The theme of the open call of About Archivio, organized by Sovrappensiero Design, is: “grids”. Secondino is a wall clock that uses the moiré effect by exploiting the movement of the hands. The clock face is replaced by indecipherable signs that, however, reveal themselves as numbers when the hour hand passes. Both this hand and the face have the same grid that differs between the two by one phase. This allows the hour hand to capture the moment, the instant of the individual hours. He is the keeper of time and its guardian, the secondino (the jailer in Italian).
